 Hazrat Amir Khusro Sahib


Hazrat Amir Khusro Sahib one of the most versatile personality of medieval India, was in 1253 in a place , called Patiyali (Utter Pradesh). His real name was Abdul Hasan yamin –al-din khusrow.

Whereas Amir Khusro was his pen name , also known as Amir Khusro Dehavi. This creative poet was associated with the royal empires of more than seven rulers of Delhi. Amir Khusro was a Sufism usician,poet and Scholar regarded as the “Father of Qawwali “.

He played a significant role in the development of the arts and cultural history of the region. Khusro was introduced to Sufism and music at an early age by his father. He was raised in an intellectually stimulating atmosphere and received traning in the arts and literature as well as music astronomy, grammar,philosophy, logic religion mysticism and history.

He want on to become an acclaimed part who was greatly respected by the rulers of the land, he wrote in person and Hindustant, though he had also composed a war ballad in Punjabi. Centuries after his death his poetry is still sung today at Sufi shrines throughout Pakistan & India.
